TONY SUTTON, President & Owner


As President and Owner of Est Est, Inc. for almost 25 years, Mr. Sutton has literally set the bar for the design standards in the Arizona interior design industry with his innate creativity, professional excellence, client relationships and business ethics. His comprehensive background of design work covers the full spectrum of commercial and residential design, ranging in style from traditional to contemporary. He has a great depth of experience and knowledge of complete project coordination, architectural history, construction, architectural detailing, lighting systems and other specialized custom items. Mr. Sutton maintains an overview of all projects and makes himself readily available to assist his designers and their clients at any time. He continually studies new ideas to broaden his professional knowledge and is considered a leader in the creative interior design discipline. Under his guidance, Est Est is also one of the few interior design companies in Arizona to maintain a specialty contractor's license with the state for both residential and commercial work.

With a B.S. degree in Interior Design from the University of Illinois, his design career began in Champaign, Illinois before coming to Est Est, Inc. in 1979. Mr. Sutton has been the owner of Est Est, since 1984 and has maintained the same standards of excellence and success established by the founding owners, Pat Benner and Bill Maas in 1959. He is very passionate about Est Est, Inc.'s design philosophy, professional standing and overall reputation. Mr. Sutton remains very hands-on and committed to the business as well as his employees.

As an Allied Member of ASID, he has also served on the Board of Directors and has served as a continuing member of the Interior Design Advisory Board for Scottsdale Community College. Under Mr. Sutton's leadership, Est Est, Inc. has developed a positive and on-going relationship with Arizona's Universities to provide learning tools for design students to obtain on-the-job experience while gaining a true perspective of the design discipline. Mr. Sutton has provided the opportunity for student internships and shadow programs for over twenty years. In 1998, the annual Arizona State University / Est Est, Inc. Intern Scholarship Program was initiated. Several years later in 2002, the same program was established for Scottsdale Community College. The development and mentoring of young designers is a prime project with Est Est, and Mr. Sutton. Est Est, has been fortunate to work with some of the finest young talents of this generation.

Mr. Sutton also exudes a similar passion for the community that has lead to his various involvements with many local charitable organizations and annual fund raising events over the years. Tony and his wife, Tracey, have three children and remain very active with the various schools' special events and community programs. He is also an active member of the Board of Directors for the Perimeter Center and the former president.

Mr. Sutton's professional credentials include guest hosting the National Seminar "Masters of the Southwest" on several occasions. He has also been featured numerous times in both Who's Who in Interior Design International and Who's Who in the World. Under Mr. Sutton's leadership, Est Est, has been featured in numerous local and national publications along with several hard cover books. He was selected several times as a "Master of the Southwest" and listed as one of ‘Scottsdale's 50 Most Fascinating People' in Scottsdale's 50 year history. Many local television spots, including FOX 10's "Cool Homes" have featured Est Est 's houses. Our projects have also won numerous national awards, including several MAME Awards for Best Interior Design for custom and model homes and Gold Nugget for best custom home and clubhouse.
