Commercial Interior Design: Models

Location:  Scottsdale, AZ
Style:  Old World / Spanish Colonial
The inspiration for the Cachet model was taken from the architecture itself with a nod to the beautiful desert surroundings.  The interior design acknowledges the Spanish Colonial presence of the home by bringing in rich colors & textures along with the use of custom designed pieces introduced throughout the house.
In the entry, a custom ceiling design was hand-painted by a local artisan who honed his skills in Italy.  The design’s origin was from the stone floor medallion that tied into the rustic wood columns which majestically flank the entrance.  Also in the entry is a specially designed custom furniture piece that was hand-carved and gilded in silver.  The artwork that hangs above is reminiscent of African jewelry and is an unexpected adornment that welcomes one into the house.
The open layout celebrates both the dining & living room, which evoke a feeling of warmth & welcome with rich tones of russet, gold, green, espresso and metallic tones.  The tumbled slate floor adds the texture that enhances the dark wood carved dining chairs that are upholstered in an ethnic flavored fabric. Unique iron scones flank beautiful artwork while elegant window treatments that cascade down, complete the setting.  The living room features a custom built-in cabinet with intricately carved details that compliment the rustic vegas above.  The fireplace and its cantera surround are livened up with inlaid metal tiles, while the richness of the fabrics include unique textures.  The living room is further enhanced by the selection of one-of-a-kind accessories and beautiful foliage.
The feeling of open living continues into the kitchen with its unique ceiling design, custom hand-painted design on the plaster hood, metal insets along with tumbled stone designs into the backsplash.  The open shelving that flanks the hood allows display of treasured items along with beautiful glassware or pottery.  The heavily distressed kitchen table & “found” chairs evoke the sense of a relaxed breakfast room that is further enhanced by the textured multi-colored window treatments.
